Cutting Vinyl UserNames - Cricut/Silhouette
Hello Fellow Crafters - I own a Cricut cutting machine and my parents just bought me a Silhouette Cameo for my birthday. The Silhouette allows me to cut any design out of outdoor vinyl up to 6' long.
I want to cut our MOC usernames out of the vinyl and put them on the back of the Monty (BusyCarol & Bobcat92). Has anyone done this???
If you have I was wondering if you have any tips and tricks?

I will have to get back to you on the Cameo observations Scattershot because mine has NOT come in yet (today YIPPEEE!). The big difference between it and the Cricut is that you need cartridges for the Cricut whereas the Cameo uses any font you have on your computer (or can get from the internet) and any image that you are willing to work with in their software. They also have an image library that you can buy individual images from or a monthly quantity.
I do know that if you get one for her make sure you get the extra design studio software (an extra $50) but it makes the Cameo a much more powerful device! I have also heard that you can cut much more intricate designs with the Cameo vs the Cricut. It is supposed to be much more versatile. There are lots of good reviews on Amazon.
I ordered mine off of Amazon because the 'Starter Kit' comes with extra stuff that most sites don't include and it was cheaper. Let me know if you need more information. If you do have more questions let me know what type of crafts your wife does and I can respond to those specific questions. What a nice husband you are for thinking of such a great gift!

Thanks Lynne! I hadn't even thought of that! I was thinking on the back on the white of the tail cap so it would stand out. A burgundy perhaps. I ordered some outdoor vinyl but I like the links you sent me better! I didn't know there were so many options. I have worked a little with vinyl but I would like to do more. I was thinking:

in something like 3" letters so you can read it without straining. Let me know what your thoughts were. I have been toying with the idea and thought it would be a good first project on my new machine.
Thanks again!

Carol, where have you been? We haven't seen your name on the forum for years!
Any plans on joining us again at the Q this year. That new machine would be a hit or is it too big to transport. How do we order?
Jim

Jim, did you notice Carol's post is from 5 years ago? I haven't seen or heard from her since then.
