Deadhorse/Prudhoe Bay AK

Holy Cow!!! We made it to Prudhoe Bay yesterday and the inside of the rig looked like we had taken a knock down. Luckily all the cabinet straps kept the doors closed or we would have had real mess. Bob just finished screwing the table to the floor to keep it still on the way back. According to the Alaska government road conditions website the last 25 or so miles on the Dalton Highway were supposed to be "good", but, let me tell you, they were sorely mistaken. It was so rough that the light bulb in the table lamp unscrewed itself, hopped onto the floor, didn't break and left the shade on the lamp! The drive up was so very interesting and beautiful. Wilderness as far as the eye can see and then more wilderness. Boreal forest giving way to mountains, giving way to tundra, and then to the Artic Plain.

We take the oilfield tour to the Arctic Ocean today and they have had Polar Bears at the ocean, so hopefully we'll see them.

Happy eyes!!

Pam
