Awesom Location Idea!

Here's the light I bought off Amazon. Installed it on the edge of the battery vent underneath the overhang of the front of the rig.

It was small enough to fit on the edge of the square black vent for the battery box without needing to drill another hole in the outside wall of the rig.
Thanks for the location idea! I already had the supplies on hand to install a LED light to indicate the 120VAC output of our inverter while traveling. I had kept procrastinating on the installation because I couldn't figure out a good location to mount the LED.
I had missed Bob's post on the indicator light, but for years had also noticed the same light on semi refrigerated vans always having one on the driver's side of the vans for monitoring in the mirrors while driving. Very much appreciate everyone's input.

Edit: On our Magnum-Inverter 2012, I have to cycle to 12vdc input switch Off and back On again to get the internal transfer switch to latch for inverted DC operations. Still waiting on a replacement unit from M-I

You may have to turn your Inverter on by pressing the button, and also push the reset button on the Inverter
I have to reset each time I change from electric to battery

We also experience this. The 12v residential fridge is designed to run on the inverter while in transit or boondocking ( draws power off the battery pack which is kept charged by the Solarflex system). However, ours doesn’t. The troubleshooting page of the Owners Manual suggests it might be in “showroom mode”. Recommends unplugging it and replugging it. Haven’t tried this yet but I’ve asked Camping World to look into it. I’ll update this post if for works. In the meantime, if anyone else wants to try it, please let me know the outcome.

I would think removing shore power and disconnecting the battery or inverter would be the same as unplugging the unit. That would be easier than pulling the fridge to access the plug.

Robert - great idea.

If possible, could you send a picture of where you installed it?

Here's where I put mine. Just enough room for 1/2 inch hole. It's right over the door to the battery compartment. Sorry for the orientation.

Thanks - the pic is helpful. I am going to buy the light and see if I can get it connected.

I used a 14 gauge extension cord with the plug end still intact and cut the female end off. Ran it through the battery compartment to the basement to reach the inverter, then plugged it into the second receptacle on the inverter.
