It depends on what RV you are talking about. Do you have a model number and year that you are asking about? Newer Montana's do not have a gravity fill port like the older ones had. Our 2012 has both the gravity and the ability to use the power fill valve in the convenience center to fill the fresh tank when hooked up to a city water connection. But, I have also filled the fresh tank through the city valve using a 12 volt Harbor Freight pump connected to our 40 gallon water bladder, so that is also an option that is easy to do.

Sort of...but through the convenience center which isn't entirely convenient.

fresh water fill

Adding fresh water with a container and funnel can be done on some units by taking the tank vent cover off and the screen out and pouring water in there. Slow, hard to do and aggravating but I have done it several times. The vent cover on my unit is on the street side about 3 feet from the back of the trailer. The cover on mine is a small black plastic piece about 3" x 3" that pulls up and out. Holding a six gallon tank up for a long time is rough on old folks so I rig my table to help support it. Hope I understood your question.
