Water Heater Issue

Our 120v side of the water heater stopped working several months ago, I’ve replaced the thermostat and the element. So I’m pulling the water heater out to check the connections in the junction box, I had this issue about a year after we purchased our 5th and it was the 14gauge wire that was over heated on the connections in the J-Box.

If this is a Suburban unit, don’t forget to check the little black rocker switch. The connections on it have been a problem for some in the past.

Checked all the connections from the J-box and the switches, I did replace the element with a suburban element and it working again. Since I pulled the water heater and was checking connections I just re-did them with wire nuts. Could have been the rocker switch had an issue but all good again and back to all electric once again.
