Goodbye Casey

Today after a year of battling a number ilnesses Casey was put to sleep. We know he is in a better place now chasing the deer that he could never catch. He was our best friend and will be missed. Fortunately we still have Chyanne.

So sorry for you, all of us that love our fur kids feel your pain.

As I have posted here before, I hope this will offer you some healing and peace:

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Casey will be missed by all of us that knew him. He was a gentle giant and a great friend to you and all of us! We know eventually we will have to put our Bear down but until then he will be babied and cared for as much as needed! Our thoughts are with you in your time of loss!

Sorry to hear that you both had to part with a much loved family member. I read your post and it touched a soft spot in my heart. My male Sheltie was named Casey as well. I have a lot of good memories of him as you do with your Casey. This is what you will remember. Somehow the loss will become a sweet ache when remembered as it is a loss of love.

Sorry for your loss! They do become a part of us, don't they.

Our **** shu Georgio passed away last Sept. and it was hard, however this hurt will also, with God's help will heal over time.

We now have a cocker puppy (Buffy) and found out how much work a new puppy is, but also a joy.

We'll be praying for you.

God Bless

Thanks to everyone's support. Prior to Casey's passing there was a photographer that tours the local RV parks taking pictures of the local pets, mostly dogs. She stopped by us because of Chyanne's reputation of chasing real and imaginary frisbees. She took a number of photos of both Chyanne and Casey and Casey's now occupies a space where we can see him everytime we enter the RV.

So sorry to hear about Casey,we lost our Yellow Lab Rosie last Sept,so we know how you're feeling right now and that feeling will slowly smooth out but the memory of Casey will be with you forever. We still have Rosie's sister a Chocolate Lab which ease's the lost a little but we realize we'll have to go through this again in the near future.
God Bless!
