Cargo Door Support

I have a 2020 MHC 295RL and the door-side cargo door is set up for support rods but i don't know which ones to purchase. Has anyone done this and can provide advice on which supports to get? Where to get them? Many thanks.

You can buy them here:https://industrialgassprings.com/rv/

As far as strength and length - no clue. I could measure the ones on our '14 343RL but that would be no guarantee that they would be the same as your much newer 295RL - and they are real touchy on how they are mounted dimensionally

Can I ask why you want to add the supports? My 2020 MHC doors also have the support mounts, but that would prevent them from opening up fully so you end up hitting your forehead every time you get near the open door and are constantly leaning over to get under it. I removed them from my last one and added the magnets.

I put them in on my passenger side door and I love it. I can't recall the size, but just took the measurements from the driver's side ones and my local trailer shop matched them.

Absolutely agree. The weight of these cargo doors doesn't require a lift assist. I want mine to open as far as possible.

I've got a 2013 3582 and it had the strut assist lifts on the curbside basement door and I took them off and put a magnet on it and on the side of the unit itself to hold it open. No more bending over or ducking around an open door when I've doing maintenance or cleaning the basement out. That is why Keystone has put the magnets on the doors because folk at the National Fall Rally were complaining of them either hitting their heads, having to bend over to get to the space or the struts pulling out of the doors.

They come with the lift support brackets because they are the same as the other doors with lifts. it's faster to make them all the same for the install on the line.

It looks like you have the magnets over that door. Didn't need to add the struts.

Are you sure you don't have the magnets? Just push the door all the way up.

All, many thanks for all the comments. I should have clarified a bit. I do have magnets and they work well for me. What I'm trying to solve for is my grandson who gets in the storage area and i fear the weight of the door will pinch fingers and dent his noggin. So, i was thinking gas support struts would help with this. I am willing to put up with the risk of banging my head if I can reduce the risk to him. Again appreciate the many replies and information.

Thanks Rhondo, I saw your setup at the 2020 Midwest Rally. Well done!
