oxidation
Had fifth wheel washed and waxed. Cleaning man says I have some oxidation. Suggested he can remove it for a lot of money. Can't I use something to remove it for a lot less? Anybody removed oxidation from fifth wheel? It can't be too bad, the fifth wheel is only three years old.

Anybody with a power polisher, ladder, time on their hands, and any of several polish compound brands can polish their own RV. I prefer Meguiar's, but there are several other good brands of polish. Watch out for your decals when you have the polisher spinning.

I agree with what dieselguy said about polishing also carefuller not to burn through the Jill-coat ether. I use a marine grad polish on are rig I think it lasts longer and it is maid for Jill-coat finish's like on a boat also be vary care full on the ladder when your using the
buffer don't let it get away from you it can be a long ways down!

I use Protect All Fiberglass Oxidation Remover & Color Restorer. Found it works better by hand than by machine. Once complete, I use Protect All All-Surface Care with Carnauba Wax. These two products when used together completely restored our faded trailer back to its original shine, and 3 years later, it still looks good. It is a lot of work to do the job by hand, but it was worth the extra effort for the results I got. I did use an oscillating wax machine to apply the All-Surface Care product.

The guys come to the CG in FL and do a better job from roof to tires than I can, $4 for wash or $10 wash/wax per foot.

Only you rich folk can afford that. LOL That's at least $400 to wash and wax. Takes me around a six pack, but I can get it done in a half a day.

I use a product called DriWash n Guard. Have used it on filthy Semi trailers, WOW! Spray on and wipe off. Order from DWG international.com. Pin173077. Use driwash or oxygone.
