overnight RV parks near Dallas TX

I wuld like some reccomendations for an overnight stop Northbound I-35 near Dallas, TX.
We just need a safe spot to overnight. A cheaper rv park preferred to Walmart or truck stops.

I have not done it lately - but driving thru DFW I found to be "less brain damage" to take I35W thru Fort Worth.

We stayed one night at Yogi Bear's Jellystone south of Fort Worth. Nice but too expensive for an overnight.

Northlake is fine if they have any slots. We stayed there for a couple of months extended stay.

In my opinion - the nicest in DFW is The Vineyards in Grapevine. It looks like it would be out of your way - but it is only a couple of miles off the freeway (114) and it is easy to get to from I35 East or West. We stayed there for several months a few years back and loved it.

A stay at Northlake or The Vineyards would get you thru the DFW traffic mess ready to wake up and go.

If you are just passing thru, I agree with Mike that I-35W thru Ft Worth is the better route.

If you don’t get any better recommendations you can open google maps, zoom in to an area you might want to stay, and do a search for RV park. A quick search shows several RV parks along I-35W between Hillsboro and Alvarado (just south of Ft Worth). But I don’t know anything about them. But you can look at each for reviews and rates.

A search of I-35 north of DFW shows some, but fewer, parks.

Cedar hills state park isn’t too costly and is quiet. Just south of Dallas

But. Most sites at cedar hill state park are short. Be sure of the description/length .

There are several corp of engineers parks just outside the dfw area. Just some do have gates close at night that you can’t get in after dark.

There's a Cabela's/Bass Pro Shop right on I-35W in the Northlake area. I haven't confirmed this, but my understanding is that overnight parking is allowed and is free. Might check it out.

Please do not park/overnight anywhere along or inside the 635- LBJ. - interstate 20 loop around Dallas. It is not SAFE!!!!!!!!!
I have lived here 25 years and would not refer any oneto do that. Not even the bass pro sports, Cracker Barrel’s, diffently NOT Walmarts.

Take Joe’s advice! I hate to go into Austin and leave our car or truck in a parking lot - it ain’t safe!

Northlake was not gated when we did an extended stay there in 2017 and a quick check of google street view shows there is no gate.

The Vineyards is gated and VERY safe. If you can get a spot for overnight you will not be disappointed. It is worth the short diversion off of IH35.

If you want to get a little farther away from the DFW metro mess there are several RV parks just across the river into Oklahoma near the Winstar casino. 70 miles or so north of Ft Worth. Including Fun Town RV Resort at Winstar that claims one free night to new casino card holders. The casino cards are free and I think you can sign up on line without ever going to the casino.

I have never stayed there so can’t comment on it.
