Low water flow
I changed the whole house water filter a few days ago. Bam! Very low water flow at the kitchen sink faucet. So, I bypass the filter, to no avail. Disassemble the faucet looking for trash or obstruction in faucet. No good. I shut off the city water, turned on the pump, went outside and pressed the center pin in on the city water check valve. Seems to be getting plenty of water back from the pump. In fact, I screwed up the check valve as it wouldn't re-seat itself. Still very little flow at the kitchen sink. I am puzzled. We seem to have good flow everywhere but that sink (cold and hot). Any ideas?

SlickWillie,
The problem may be due to the stem tearing down. I had the same problem on my stick house kitchen faucet and finally pulled the stem out. I found the rubber seats on the stem had worn to the point they were tearing loose and lodging parts in the hose. I had to blow the entire hose assembly to get the pieces out. A new stem and now a clear hose gave me all the pressure back.

I actually changed the cartridge out in the faucet (lever type faucet). I had to replace the whole faucet recently, due to a leak where the pipes were soldered to the base, so I had an identical faucet. I just knew I would find trash blocking it. I blew out the faucet spout flex line (pull out spout/sprayer), and even swapped out the spray end on the faucet. I am really stumped on this one.

It seems I am no help to you on this one! You have done everything I would have done. This one has both of us stumped. Keep us posted what you find when you do find it. Good Luck!

SlickWillie, One way to determine if your problem is the faucet or the water lines is to unhooking the supply lines from the faucet and place them in a 5 gal bucket. Then turn on the water and check the flow. This would probably be easier and safer to do with a helper.
