Wheel Bearings - My bad

I forgot last year to have my wheel bearings repacked ... so it cost me $375. New bearing hand packed with DB Grease. Three of the outer bearing had spun on spindle and one of the inner. Several had discolorations on the bearings themselves. This is one reason I don't use the self-greasing feature - I want the break inspection along with the inspection of bearing. IMHO - don't ruin your trip

It is fortunate you caught it before your trip, but that seems like a lot of wear in just a year or two. Was there still plenty of grease when they were serviced this time? Was the proper grease used last time?

I had the "IS" installed two years ago ... mechanic said it looked like Marine Grease, not dry but there were issues. I thought I'd post this after I saw the other IS bearing issue. I think MorRyde used. same grease in bearings that was used on the big pivot ... Blue stuff

Also wanted OTHERS - to think about their wheel bearing B4 it's an issue.

Gotcha. I didn't realize you had IS. Good advice on checking brakes and bearings though.
