Fantastic Fan dome sticking

This sticking problem has been going on since at least '03 because I remember this being adressed years ago. Ours still sticks when not used for a while but after I open it manually it is OK after that. I installed a vent cover over the Fantastic Fan because we like to have the air flow continue even though it is raining. I have not noticed any restriction of air flow with the vent cover.

We have this problem with the one in the kitchen. I called the company and they could not be any nicer to deal with! Excellent customer service! They are sending 2 for each of the fans and they will be here tomarrow...Now that is service.

Good thread. Mine just started sticking last week and I haven't had a chance to get on top to check it out. The manual crank won't open it, so next week if it isn't thundering and lightening, I will give all of your ideas a shot, and thanks much for the tlephone number.

Just went up on top a few days ago and had to re-do my edge of my cover. Lasted a few months. I wiped down the inside edge of the cover, then sprayed a heavy duty silicone all around the inside edge. Works great again.

We had the problem. We have MaxAirs. I sprayed Lithium grease generously on the lift slide, both sides about 6 weeks ago. Still working fine. (fingers-crossed)
