Closet Hanger
What kind of hangers do you use in these small closets. It seems that a regular size hanger is too wide.

Actually, the newer Montanas have more hanger room than the older models, so standard hangers should work fine. We have an older model (early 2003) and we use the plastic hangers with a swivel-type hook.

We use standard wire hangers mostly in our 2004. We do have to be careful not to use the wide plastic hangers that come from retail stores as they get caught in the sliding doors.

We use the plastic hangers if they have a "hook or slot" in the hanger, and the wire headed cedar hangers, so we can "layer" shirts &/or shirts & pants to save room. they are right about the wider plastic hangers, they do get in the way, so we stay away from those.

I use these http://www.stayputgear.com/heavy_dut...ic_hanger.html They are a little shorter than a regular plastic hanger, they snap on the rod and they STAY PUT during travel.

I centered the rod in the closet. This gave me enough room to use regular hangers with no problems.

We have an o5 and no problem with regular plastic hangers unless you get a really big one. If you have enough clothes in there, they don't move at all. Our previous 5er (not Montana) had a not so deep closet and we had to hunt for smaller hangers. I throw away the plastic ones from the store because they always break.
Happy trails......................

On our 05 2955RK we had to recenter the clothes pole also, then the clothes on hangers fit properly.

We also centered our closet pole. We use the plastic hangers and have not had a problem.

I use normal size hangers in the closet, I have found that if I angle them slightly the doors will open and close without hitting them.

I have found that some metal hangers aren't as wide as others so I put a bunch together and took the narrower ones and put in the 5er

I took the long rod down and cut it into three pieces, and mounted those pieces lengthwise in the trailer, using the original hardware for two of them, and fabricating another set for the third. I took some pictures, but they are a bit large to post here, but I'd be happy to email them to anyone that is interested. We now have slightly less total hangar space, but everything fits well. Wifey is happy! I will be leaving on vacation for two weeks starting Sat AM, so if a set of pics is requested, and I don't get to it by Friday (Feb 10th), I'll do it when I get back. email me at neighborman@yahoo.com

I use "drip dry" hangers from Wal-Mart which are just a little bit smaller than normal hangers. They work just fine.

We lowered the rod an inch and a half with 2X6's. They are hidden by the lip on the shelf. That gave us clearance. I use wooden hangers for my pants as they bend the cheaper ones,
