My solution with UHMW is a permanent repair.. If i had damage in another section of the bottom Darco cover I would install UHMW for that repair as well.

Some have had great success with tape.. I did not.. One operation of the slide and the tape I used.. which was as sticky as Eternabond simply bunched up the Darco and made the issue worse

.. hence the UHMW repair came into play..

Well, I noticed frayed Darco in the field about 6 inches from the end with the fridge of our kitchen slide. After reviewing the recent thread with ChuckS’ repair, I looked under the flap of carpet inside the rig covering the wear bar and found a protruding screw with Darco fibers on it. Two other screws were loose about 1/2-1 turn. Backed them out and applied some RTV to the threads before tightening them. Luckily, none were stripped.

Tape goes from inside the rig to outside to prevent an edge that can catch. I agree that just patching will create an edge that will catch
