Dang It, Memory Failure!!
I even had a checklist of the things I was going to do yesterday in preparation for today's first outing of the year. Checklist's are really neat things, provided that you have written down everything that should be checked. Checked tires, checked batteries, checked for loose items, managed to take half of the needed supplies to the rig that were on the list, unfortunately left off the minor fact that I needed to turn the fridge on to get it cold. After the temporary memory failure I did at least manage to crank the brain cells up enough to remember it while laying in bed last night. Dang It, okay.........wait for emotions to stabilize and subside and in a very polite, caring, gentle manner look over and inform DW of my memory failure and pleasantly tell her to please set the alarm for an hour earlier so I can go to the mini-storage before work!! Who needs sleep anyway, we are going camping!! That's my story and I am sticking to it!! Spring has officially Sprung, and the fridge is on!

I am so glad I am not the only one who does that - usually first trip out I turn on the fridge and forget to turn on the propane! Just added it to my checklist, now if it ever stops snowing maybe we can get out!

Bingo- you know...there might be a market for remotes to start our fridges (although it sounds like yours may be too far away for that). I too think of things like that after going to bed and have gone out to the camper in my slippers numerous times. Last time it was because I remembered I had left some lights on and I had already removed shore power. -Glenn

Got the same problem. Memory never was that great, and sure not getting any better.
Just installed a new security system at home (neighbor across the street was broken into about 3 weeks ago). I can check the status and arm/disarm it on my DW's Iphone!. Even watch live video of the living room! Wouldn't it be nice if you could check everything in the Monty and turn it on/off like that? I still have a dumb phone that only makes phone calls.

I am so glad my rig is parked on my driveway. I am way older than 29 and you can only imagine what I could possibly go through. It's so bad I don't remember where I've left my checklists. So prior to a trip it's not unusual to make several walks out to the rig to perform my pre-trip duties and so far, so good. It's after the trip that I forget some things (like emptying out the cupboards or retrieving the spare Dish receiver).

Not only am more than 29x2, but since we began building our RV retreat with digging utility lines etc. I've discovered I'm not anywhere near the man I never was! Memory is the least of my problems.

My excuse is I have learned so much over the last 60+ years that my brain is full to the brim. Now when I learn anything new something sloshes out. Might be what I just thought of or something old, who knows.
Buy the way anybody know who that pretty woman is sharing my house?

I never forget to turn on fridge, but don't ask how many times I have stopped a mile from the house to remove AC covers.

Of course that only happens if you’re over 29!!!
I think they are called senior moments.

Local koa near Huntington, wv. We really like the place and the owners and usually stay there two or three times a year.

I used to beat myself up when I would forget things that I had to do. As I got older I just accepted the inevitable and accept the consequences.
Have a good trip. We are going to take advantage of the KOA special of camp one night and get the second 1/2 off at the Gettysburg, PA KOA next week. My brother and I are in the middle of visiting every monument in the park. Probably will take 10 years.

I have a very through checklist so I won't forget anything. I just can't remember where the checklist is.

One thing added to our checklist........remember to put the antenna DOWN. Nothing worse than starting to back out from under the cover, hearing the DW holler STOP....and at the same time hearing a "crunch" from above. Fortunately, no damage to the roof, just snapped the antenna off. And to this day, neither of us can remember who....or why.....the antenna was up. Now BOTH of us check it.
SIGH...but that is the "over 60 syndrome".....over 60, and 60 seconds of memory.

I can truthfully say that I have never, never forgotten to turn the refrigerator on.
How could I?
"Honey, did you turn the refrigerator on?" (That's Earlene speaking.)
See, no way.
No an idea was posed about remote control via phone. Good idea.
A simpler solution would be a timer with date function. Just set it for the day and time you want the refrigerator to come on. Also in that same time, have it set to go of in 24 hours or more in case you change your mind. Then just rely on my method.
Edited: Oh, I do understand why you have to wake your wife up to have her reset the alarm. It is on her side of the bed because you cannot remember to set it each night, right?
