Adjusting caulk-covered slide-out bracket

Today's task is to investigate whether I can adjust the outside bracket which holds the top cable that pulls the slide room in. Two cables in this position have frayed badly, so I expect to find that this outside bracket is mis-aligned with the hole in the jamb. (The hole in the jamb is somewhat covered by the rubber seal, etc. so fingers crossed on really being able to tell.) Anyway, the bracket has been pretty well slathered with caulk for weather-proofing, I suppose. Any suggestions on how to remove all that caulk?

I haven't allowed much time for responses before I'm on my way to the storage location, but hopefully some can respond quickly. Thanks for your help on this project!

Before posting this, I should have searched for info already available on removing caulk. I think I've seen what I need. Administrators, feel free to delete this thread.
