Tent for additional room

For our next extended trip, I'm thinking about bringing along some light gear for personal fitness. I've thought about investing in some kind of tent as an extra room where we can just keep the gear set up. I would want air flow, but also weather protection, so it seems to me a camping tent (as opposed to an open canopy, for example) is what I should look for. Maybe 8-10 feet square/diameter.

How much room there will be at the site is an unknown. Also, I suppose I'd be smart to call ahead and verify we would be allowed to set up a tent at our site.

Aside from those kinds of logistics, do you have recommendations as to a style or brand of tent I should consider? Other considerations?
