Water heater

I have a 2014 montana and my panel has two different modes for heating the water in tank… It won’t heat the water when it is on electric… I assume it has to be on shore power for the electricity mode to work but in any case it doesn’t work either way of shore power or just 12. volt… Does it have its separate fuse.. no indication there is a fuse blown. 🤔 🤔

John,

For electric there are 2 switches that must be on, one is outside at the water heater and the other is inside. There is a troubleshooting guide in the files section. https://www.montanaowners.com/forums/downloads.php

One of the more common failures is a burnt out element. They are fairly inexpensive to change.

You are correct, you must be on shore or generator power for the water heater to work in electric mode.
As mentioned above make sure the switch on the front of the water heater is on. Also press the two reset buttons while you have the cover open.
