12vdc fridge

For folks out there with the 12v fridge, I need a little advice.

Just took a 5 day excursion to “break in” the new rv. I powered up the fridge and left the temps at default temps. Put food in the fridge side and nothing in the freezer side. At my destination I had to remove the top fridge securing bracket as it wouldn’t allow the freezer door to close completely. (Issue for the dealer to solve) Anyway, the freezer door was open for a few minutes while removing the bracket. Three days later, still nothing in the freezer, I looked inside and was met with a lot of frost and ice build up. I cleaned all that up and dried everything and closed the door. Still nothing in freezer. Two days later, was met with the same issue, frost and ice build up.
I’ve never experienced this before with any other fridge.
Thoughts ?

Check the door seals.
Look on YouTube on how to do a fridge door seal test with paper.

I'm a little confused. What do you mean "nothing in the freezer"? Are you expecting ice build up in the freezer, or is it just not getting cold?

One thing I always do when turning on any of my refrigerators (ever) in the house or the camper, residential or propane, is to set a cup of water in the refrigerator section and in the freezer section and wait a few hours to see if things are actually getting cold, and the freezer is actually freezing.

But, frost is cost by only 1 thing, and that is because of door seals that aren't sealing tight. As stated above, do the paper test, or I call it, the dollar bill test.

Basically, put a dollar bill in the way of the door seal and now shut the door. If you can pull the dollar bill out easily, your seal is not sealing. If it has resistance pulling the bill, the seal is good at that spot. Continue to move the dollar bill around the door seal on all doors. If at any spot the dollar bill can be pulled out without resistance, there is your leak in the seal.

Nothing in the freezer means no food. The freezer section is empty.
I am not expecting ice/frost build up. The freezer is getting cold. Very cold.

After removing the top securing bracket, the freezer door closes properly. The dollar bill test will have to wait till the dealer figures out the top securing bracket issue.
