Generator cover

Somewhere on this forum (I think)was a link for posting a review for the Westinghouse 4500 inverter/generator and getting a free cover for your generator. I have searched hi&low for it and can't find it. Any help? Thanks

I received a free cover with mine and you didn't miss anything. You get what you pay for.

Greg, I just bought the Westingtonhouse dual fuel 4500 generator and in order to get the free cover, you have to write a review on it. Once you submit your review, you are suppose to receive an email saying your review has been received. Once that happens, you need to submit your review thread to Westingtonhouse in order to get your free cover. I wrote two reviews and never heard back from the review company. So I ordered a much nicer cover on Amazon. Fits perfect and is of much better quality than the freebie.

Here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have this cover for my Champion inverter. I saw these in Bass Pro last weekend for $19 or so. I will probably push the EASY button and buy one of these for my new Cummins P4500.

Mikendebbie,

I have 2 Cummings P4500i's. I purchased one cover from the Cumming web site (it was $50) about 6 weeks ago. I did receive the cover. The web site let me order only 1, so I thought I wait till I received it to see if I really like it or not before ordering a second one.

Well, the cover is OK. It's kind of big though for the machine, but it does have tie downs with it to snug it up. The material is really think though. I was looking for something I could use to cover the generators in the back of the pick up when towing the fifth wheel. Not necessarily to keep them clean, but to kind of keep them hiding out of site a bit more, not so obvious they are there (although they would be impossible to steel from the back of the truck while hitched to the fifth wheel. Still, not so obvious with a cover on them). But am a bit concerned because the material is so thin, and not sure how that would hold up in the truck bed traveling with all the wind blowing.

Would you please elaborate a bit more what you mean by: "I will probably push the EASY button and buy one of these for my new Cummins P4500."

How do you order? (where, web site? call??) And will this cover fit the P4500 OK. I don't care if I have 2 different covers, I just want something that won't get shredded in a 65 mph wind!

Thanks for your help.

I mean that the easiest thing for me to do is go to Bass Pro (15 miles) and buy a Champion cover for my Cummins genny. I don't care if it says Champion or Cummins...I don't want to pay $50 for a Cummins logo. The $19 gray cover is a good one. I have a sneakin' suspicion that Amazon changes prices based on my searches. I could swear that I looked at these covers a few days ago when this thread was started and I saw Champion covers for $17 to $19...and some for $30 like the screen shot. Amazon knows more about me than I know about me.

I have not yet tried the cover to see if it will fit the new generator...in fact the new generator is still in the box. The Champion cover is not tight around my Champion so it has room for a larger genny. I think it will fit fine. If it doesn't I will return the cover to Bass Pro. The Cummins came weeks ago but I had hurt my back and was not up to messing with the new generator. I need to get it out and fire it up...its on the list.

I got one for my Predator 3500 from Amazon. $29 but it is heavy and double sewn and water proof. You do get what you pay for. It will fit many of the mid sized generators because most are made in the same factory.

I bought a plastic storage tub from a big box store. It works great. Make sure to wrap a strap over the top or the wind will lift it off and you will lose it

That there's a lot of hoops to jump through just for a flimsy cover that doesn't sound like it would last very long in 65mph winds. Bought 1 on Amazon and may invert a big box store box over it for wind protection as recommended by h2ojocky.
