Looking for first RV!
Merry Christmas!
Joining yet another user forum in the search for the "perfect" 5th wheel! 
Already have the TV- Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins Megacab 4x4 with a bunch of mods including air bags, Banks Brake and Pullrite Superglide 16k on Superrails in the back.
Looking for a mid 30 footer bunkhouse with 1 1/2 baths in the right size and price range.
Really like the Montana High Country 333DB so we are going to check it out next week and then look for the best price.
The research continues...

OK, finally decided and put a deposit on the High Country 333DB!
I assume that High Country owners are a part of the "Montana Family" and won't be considered the "poor stepchild"! 
Hope so...anyway, I hope to pick it up (out of state purchase) in the next few weeks or so. It is in Oklahoma and I'm in So. Cal.!
Getting a MorRyde pin box installed and considering replacing the stock rubber with something better (Michelin?)
I'll post pics when I get it...

Good luck and happy trails!!! Let us know how you like it. DH and I are considering the High Country 343 for our next Montana. We currently have an 06 2955RL and love but want to get into something bigger eventually. This is a great forum to be a part of. you are definately family now

Welcome. You are now part of the family. In my personal opinion, I would change the tires. Do a search on the forum and you'll get a lot of info on this subject.

Wow...thanks all for the warm welcome! It has been a loooong process of researching, but we feel this is the best choice for us and the prices right now are very good.
Looking forward to a little "road trip" just to pick it up in Oklahoma and bring it back to So. Cal.
Then we can plan our first outing...
Ya, I'm pretty sure I will bring a set of tires with me when I go back and have them installed while there.

When I bought my new rig the dealer traded out the chinese tires for Maxxis which are rated much better free of charge. You might want to talk to him prior to picking it up to see what he is willing to do for you. He may swap them out for a better tire such as mine or the Goodyear G614 for a lot less than you will pay buying the junk and replacing it. It's worth a try.

Lee makes a good point, we had the dealer put 614s on our and they credited us for the Mara-bombs and we paid the price difference for the 614s. I was pleased with the deal, pleased with the dealer, and very pleased with the "un-Chinese" tires.

Bingo, I do not know if our dealer would have offered us such a deal, but your "plan" is something we will keep in our box of good ideas if the opportunity should ever arise in the future.

Michael,
I did not get full cost for the Marathons, but rather reached an equitable price with the dealer. After all, when they arrive on the lot, they are used tires because of the delivery from the factory.

Worth a try...I will ask the dealer what tires are on there and what he will do for replacing them. Thanks for the advice...
EDIT: Dealer didn't seem interested in doing anything with the tires...can't really blame him I guess, I already squeezed about every dime out of this deal I think!
Still trying to decide if I want him to add the 2nd A/C before I go back to pick it up...

I think the dealer said it would be around $900 additional...need to double check.
How critical is it to have it ducted rather than just "dump" cold air?

It's more convenient to be able to run one or the other at times ( the living room AC at night and the bedroom AC when watching TV and if both are running and ducted, the temp stays pretty even in different parts of the trailer.

OK, so are you saying you run one or the other solo in the room you're NOT in for the noise? But that way you still get cooling without the unit running where you are correct? Sounds like the way to go...
BTW, love your beautiful state, we have good friend nears Winston-Salem and drove back there a few years ago. Had a great trip...look forward to doing it with our trailer next time!

Mike,
We normally run both AC's but if we want it a bit quieter in one room, we can do that. There will be times when you will need both AC's to keep cool.
I spent 20 years living in Placerville in northern California and have a daughter who lives in San Clemente. California is a beautiful state that offers just about everything and I really enjoyed living there. When you do get to this part of the country again, give us a shout.

Mike, Some Montana products are already ducted for a 2nd A/C. Not sure if the High Country is. Our 2nd A/C in the BR is not but works great. It's an option that is nice but not essential. You have been given great reasons to consider it. If not considered Mike, ask dealer for a Low Profile unit in the front. Some units of this type are only 9 1/2 inches high. Good luck.
