Another Question About Pin Weight

I don't understand why the pin weight is so much heavier on the 3075. When comparing the new floorplans of the 10th anniversay units, the bedrooms on many of the plans are the same. Look at the 3075 vs the 2980. Looks like the same amount of "stuff" in the kitchen/living area, but the pin weight is higher on the 3075. Same with the 3075 vs 3400. I guess the extra stuff and the extra length in the rear of the 3400 levers weight off of the pin???

When comparing the 3075 against the pin weight of a 2955.
It looks to me like adding the third slide to the 3075 behind the axels would reduce the pin weight. Instead it increases it by 730 lbs.?????

we all know if they would slide the axels ahead about 1 or 2 " it would all change but the engineer put it that way

There are many factors affecting pinweight and most are beyond me. Axle placement is one we don't often think about. The 3295RK has one of the highest pinweights even though it's not the longest. But, if I recall, the axles are further aft than on most other models because of the weight in the rear kitchen. And placement of the tanks.

Our 2003 3295RK had an actual pinweight of 3300 lbs. This 2007 3400RL is about three feet longer but the pinweight, actual, is 2860. Our 3400 weighs, again actual weight, 14,620. Our 3295RK was 14,360.

I can't answer your question, but as noted, the empty weights are pretty much propaganda...when compared to the loaded weights.
