Water pump

Back on March 23rd, I posted about the water pump in our 3400RL sounding like a jackhammer/rock crusher in the basement. I am happy to say that after installing a Shur-flo pressure tank, the noise has virtually gone away. From a rock crusher to a purring kitten is about what it amounted to. I may have inadvertently corrected some hose contact points too, but nothing that was obvious. I DID however, find some loose ductwork fittings on the furnace, and some loose electric (12 volt) connections while I was in the "basement", so it pays to look around while you have the cover off. Otherwise, it sounds good.

Thanks for the update. Was the tank difficult to install? Not much room under there to work!

Well John and scattershot (and others), my bad, I didn't take any pictures. I will next time.....
The tank is a Shurflo accumulator, Camping World catalog number 2290. It's the small tank. As for installation, it was fairly easy. Only tool I needed was a screwdriver, and that was to remove the access cover in front of the pump/furnace. Taking the screws out was no problem, contorting the cover so I could get it out of the way was a hassel, but finally got it. After that, the rest was easy. I simply unhooked the water line from the discharge side of the pump, used the coupling/connector that is supplied with the tank to attach it to the pump fitting, and moved the water line over to the outlet side of the tank. There was plenty of room, and the water line had plenty of slack to move it over the distance I needed. It all went together almost like it was made for it. No cutting, threading, bolting, etc. The tank has rubber feet on it. There were a lot of hoses in the area, but none of them gave me any real trouble. The fittings are all designed to be finger tight, so no issues there. I pressureized everything, checked it, and all was good. Double checked all the fittings/lines, made sure all was in place, then fought the cover to get it back in place, but it does bend......some!
