The only thing wrong was that junior and the second place car at the time waited too long to make a move. I thought for sure a three wide photo finish was going to end the race. Looks like junior may actually be able to win one this year with his new team. Kenseth definitely looked strong!

I didn't retire until a little after 1am. I think it is going to be a very good season also especially with the new changes nascar has made.

Oh and junior placed right where he should have. Right behind a FORD!

Good race for sure. Well ok wasn't so good, Jeff Gordon lost an engine!! And yes Earnhardt did good, but he always does at the restrictor tracks. Lets see what happens at Phoenix. I hope he comes on strong there also, that will be the real tell tale!!

Now I can't go on without saying Danica sure did have a terrible speedweeks. Her luck wasn't good at all. Don't get me wrong, this lady can wheel a race car. But I do have one question here. In the 500 when she wrecked hitting the 48 car she had started that race in the rear. 48 car was in 8th place when the incident happened. How come 30+ cars could miss him and she got attracted right to him? My answer is, what was her spotter telling her and was she listening to him? There is also defensive driving as well as aggressive racing. Hope her luck changes because I believe she is great for the sport, and as I said very talented!!

It was a good speed week, and a great race...Go Ford. Now if only cousin Carl can win a championship this year.

Really hope he does. He's a class act all the way. Great driver with a head on his shoulders and uses it. If Jeff Gordon can't win, then it would be great that Carl did!!

Surely there are some blue oval antagonists that can provide some help here, I am vastly out-numbered so far!!

Sorry Bingo, since I am a Carl Edwards fan that is a good thing.

I would like very much to see Carl win it all this year. Just need to keep people like Steward,Junior,Gordon,Johnson (should I go on) out of the way.

I figured that post would be good for at least a few additional pages for this thread!! The only reason I root for Junior is because of his dad. I was a devout Earnhardt fan, heck I even have a number 3 surfboard down in the corner of the family room! Now, how many Ford or other manufacturers fans can attest to something of a similar, ridiculous nature in their house? There is a good story behind that surfboard, we were in the Myrtle Beach Nascar Cafe back when it was open and were waiting for a table and there was one hanging on the wall. I kept admiring it and hinting in the presence of the wife that I would bet there is no one in the hills of WV that has anything like that. After she got home, she took it upon herself to call there and find out where they got it, she then contacted the person who made them, and lo and behold, at Christmas that year, a black #3 surfboard was there under the tree. What a wife!! And, being honest, I usually root for the old man in the field as well (Martin) who was a long time blue oval driver until he got corrupted by one of those made in America foreign cars!

noneck, there is a pretty good fued that goes on between my buddy and me. He is a Jimmy Johnson fan also, so of course I had to razz him a little Monday night.

Bingo, my dad was a huge Martin fan. I have a couple of collector items I acquired from him. But nothing as cool as a surfboard. I liked him too because of my dad till Martin became a TRAITOR (anti Ford).

Jim Mark Martin is not a traitor hes a real good driver but as you can see if you want to win a championship you have to go with something besides a ford its been quite a few yrs IIRC. "AND LET THE ROCK CHUNKIN BEGIN" And BTW Bingo Dale Sr was and still is the greatest nascar driver that ever lived. Now that should getum started HeHeHe.

Bobby, I admit he is a good driver. I just took offense when Martin decleared that if you wanted to win you have to drive something other than a Ford. That is what he said when he left Ford. I'm a diehard Ford guy. Guess I got that from my dad.

Nothing personal! I don't take what anyone says or who they like personal. It is all in good jesting. It makes for some good racing. What fun would it be if we all liked the same guy? My buddy Gene is a big Chevy fan (Jimmie Johnson), so you can imagine the phone conversation during the 500.

I agree Jim I have a bunch of friends that are ford fans so you would have to see us together LOL. and BTW I thought it was funny that a driver as good as JJ thinks he is hit the wall on lap 2 LOL and Kyle busch can drive sideways most of the time. he reminds me of Dale sr alot he don't have alot of personalty but he can drive.
