Fridge filter

Now you got me to wondering the same thing. This is from the manual...no idea where they put it! Somewhere along the water line. I have never looked for mine.

We have a Samsung refrigerator. I don’t know where the filter is but when it needs to be replaced it will notify you. We have never replaced ours. We cut the notification off.

Looks like the manual above say Filter "not supplied" so I guess that means you have to install one first? I have never even found the shutoff valve for the ice maker yet and pretty sure I have no filter...if so they are both hiding.

My shut-off valve is in the cabinet between the oven and the refer.

Thanks. Have heard some have the valve under the kitchen sink or behind the oven. Not under my sink and really hiding good if behind oven. No sweat. DW said she doesn't need ice maker anyway. If she's happy I'm tickled pink!.

I actually have two valves. The valve under the sink is really a drain valve for the ice maker line. The shut off valve is in the cabinet between the oven and the refer.

filter and valve

I went out and looked at mine. I do not have a filter. The ice maker valve is accessed by removing the drawer below the stove in my unit. The screen shot below is not my unit - but just like it. I tried to flick the little black drawer locks to actually remove the drawer and was unsuccessful. I hat those drawer locks...they are probably easy to operate if I could remember the correct way to push the lock.

The fridge in my S&B has a water and ice dispenser on the door. It is a samsung with a kenmore name plate. The water filter is in the upper left "ceiling" and it drops down and turn to remove for replacement. I have a feeling that our RV fridges do not have filters because we do not have a water dispenser, and there is no good place to put a filter for the ice maker.

Most Samsung refrigerators have a compartment inside above the right door. When opened the filter drops down. You don’t have to turn the water off. Just twist the filter to remove and twist a new one on. The instructions are on the cartridge.

filter

See pics below...
Sticks-n-Bricks fridge has water filter on the upper left (see top pic - sorry - too lazy to clean out fridge for photo op)

RV fridge - no water filter inside.
I am convinced we do not have a filter on these units.

Thanks to all for the replies.Still dont get it.If icemaker was factory installed there should be a filter.Bigger problems to fix.The blackwater anti siphon valve just soaked basement.I can bareley seen it behind the bathroom sink .This should be fun.

We were told there isn't one in our 2019 3791 RD. The instructions the next post has is for a kit you can add. If you want one, you have to add it yourself. We use the blue filter on the water line into the rig.

There is no internal water filter on these Samsung "residential" refrigerators. If you want one, you'll have to install an external inline filter. On our 2019 3811MS, there is plenty of room to install one under the sink in the island where the ice maker line is tee'd off of the cold water line to the sink.
