Water everywhere

The order for evacuation came last evening and sent us scurrying to get the rig ready to tow. Wild fires were within 3/4 miles of our site. The winds kept us safe and we did not evacuate, but were ready on a 10 minute notice.

Dianna decided to do laundry this morning. I forgot that the discharge line was off and the valve closed, so it didn't take long for the washer to fill the pipe and begin to run over. We never noticed until I went out the door and found water everywhere. Earlier preparations were validated.

The last time I repaired dryer, I sealed the closet floor with silicon caulk and installed a drain pipe extending below the belly pan. I did this just in case something like this happened. Well it paid off no flooding inside. All the water ran out the bottom saving hours of clean up.

Sorry bout the flood, but even more sorry to hear you are that close to the fires. Continued good luck and prayers for all afflicted by this fury in Texas.

So glad you didn't have to evacuate and that your preventive measures paid off. We really need to do that in our little washer/dryer closet.

It is a bit of a problem to do. You have to take the W/D out of the closet and then seal off the floor at the walls with caulk. The hole in the floor and the drain hose must be carefully done so as not to punch a hole in anything underneath, either black or gray tank. Doing it that way is much less costly than having a sheet metal pan fabricated. Today proved it works just as well.

Maybe you could add a leak sensor to shut off the washer?

Nice job! Maybe we could send some of this east coast rain to Texas?

I am glad you are safe from the fires and that the Monty is dry.
