We have had no towing issues with the F250 Turbo Diesel single axel not 4WD. The unit sits level and tows smoothly. In fact this 3750 tows much better than our previous Mountaineer tow behind! Of course I don't tow with any tanks filled.

Thanks Paul. I'm starting to lean toward just getting the F350. I think I was in overkill mode because our previous experience for the past several years was a travel trailer towed by a gas engine that was at the maximum towing capacity. I know just the diesel alone is going to make all the difference. Just human nature to want that 450 I guess

Same here Tko and we have the V10 engine.
Thanks for the input moutard,

On the '06's like yours and Puals, I was just curious, but what are the tow ratings for the V10 and the diesel do you recall? I thought I had an '06 towing guide but I can't find it.

Thanks,

Greg

The 5th wheel tow capacity for the 2006 F250/F350 Crew Cab SRW auto trans 4x2 V10 with the 4.10 axle is 14,500lbs. With the 4.30 axle, it's 16000. GCWV is 21000 with the 4.10 and 22,500 with the 4.30 axle. The 6.0V8 diesel with the same trim etc. but 3.73 axle has an 15,900lbs 5th wheel tow capacity. GCWV is 23,000lbs.

Seahunter, yes we have the dual pane windows. We have two AC's and 2-12 volt batteries. I did not order ours with a generator since I have generators on our trucks for use on the ranch to power ranch equipment. For years, even before our Montana, I always used the generator on the truck. At delivery of our 3750FL I purched a 50 ft long-50 amp power cord and installed it from the rear of the RV to the front, under the belly. The power cord is long enough to reach the generator in the truck bed just behind the truck cab, in front of the 5th Wheel Hitch. When we are parked where I need the generator, I just uncoil the power cord, plug it into the generator, plug the rear marine plug at back, and hit the switch. This way we have the same power as we have when parked in an RV Park no matter where we park. When not using the power cord pluged into the generater, I keep the extra length coiled in the left LP compartment with the LP tank. It easily is pulled up from below and coiled in the LP compartment out of the way while traveling.

Seahunter, just by way of casual talk, we travel to the Portland area almost every year since one of our sons and his family live at Milwaukee. While there we usually stay at the 99 RV park just across the river from Jubits Truck Stop. We have relatives near Rogue River also so we always make it a point to get there also.

As said above we have 2 AC, Fantistic fan in kitchen, one vent with fan in the head, vent near the shower and 2 - 12 volt batteries even though we do very little dry camping. We do use the 12 volt fans and 12 volt lights when we are getting the trailer ready to go on a trip or stopping along the road and using the trailer. That was my reason for the 2 - 12 volt batteries.

Thanks Will, that's a great idea on the generator serving dual purpose. We really want to be fully functional if we need to be so will do the generator either on board or like you mention. I'm still confused on the dual-panes. I just had a dealer try to talk me out of them but they make sense to me. He said the weight issue, which is true but seems insignificant. To me additional insulation, which there should be, and helping to reduce outside noise would be nice too. Dealer said the dual-panes lose some opening windows, and on others they don't open as far as the single-pane windows?? Not sure if this is accurate or not.

Well yes, that's a good excuse to come out out this way.... I actually went to high school and worked in Milwaukie for several years. So that's the 99 RV park right in Vancouver's Hazel Dell area? You'd be right between where we live and my brother's family lives. Maybe we could meet some time when you're up here. Haven't been to the Rogue area for a while. Probably heading south will be one of our first trips as we've been wanting to get to Crater Lake again which I think you said you were able to visit.

Bingo, you said you have 40lb tanks in your 3750 - did you have to do any modification for that? I looked at a 3750 Saturday, and didn't have a 40lb tank to look at, but it did't look like there was much room to spare in there.

Thanks,

Greg

No mods were necessary, other than a weight-lifting regimen! LOL!
