How many Tanks do I have?

Hey Folks, I have a 2009 3000RK. I am under the impression that I have a black water tank and two grey water tanks. I only have two valves to empty the tanks. The black water valve and one grey water valve. I am wondering if this is correct because on the tank monitor panel the lights for the second grey water tank never decrease. When I dump the black water the light go from 3 to 1 light and when I dump the grey water the lights on one tank go from 3 lights to 1 but the second grey water tanks stay on 3 lights all of the time. I looked under the RV and it really looks like I only have two tanks but I have not taken the bottom down to look. Any suggestions?

Hi, Welcome to the forum. Look for the galley tank valve near the left rear stabilizer jack . It should be in that area. Bill

Look for the third handle between your wheels. That would be your galley tank. It may be in front or behind the wheels coming out of the frame. The galley handles are typically not in the same place as the black and grey tank handles.

First of all welcome to the forums! This is the place to ask questions, load up on information, etc…........

Ah, you must be talking about the old “hiding valve trick” many campers have had trouble finding this valve handle. It seems to try and elude many a happy campers. By the time they find it they are not quite as happy. Myself, I just leave it open all the time and if not hooked to sewer I close the valve at the end of the line I added after we bought the camper. This works out much better for us that way. It also adds to the grey storage amount.

Welcome, on our 2008 3000RK the galley tank valve is near the drivers side rear stabilizer as mentioned in the above post.

Thanks folks, this is a big help. I called the dealer that I bought the RV from but I guess I did not explain it well enough over the telephone. I will go look where you suggested as soon as the down pour here in NC lets up. They are predicting a foot of rain over the next two days from the left overs of Ida. Again thanks, Jerry

This is Keystone weird sense of humor hiding one of the valves.Enjoy the tank lights while they work, over time the lights don't like to reduce to one, this is common.

We've got the 3585SA rear kitchen and the galley tank valve is located forward of the driver's side rear stabilizer inside the sewer hose compartment. If you don't have that compartment, it will be in that area anyway. Where are you in NC? We are in the Fayetteville area.

I also have a 2009 model 3000RK. Everybody is correct. The galley valve handle is at the very rear on the drivers side. You have to bend down and reach under to pull the handle. Looks like a much smaller line. Hope you love your 3000RK as much as we do.

Don't feel too bad, I took mine to the dealership ad told them I had water backing up in the sink. Guess what, there IS a 3rd handle hiding between the wheels on my 2880RL. I felt like a jerk, but the walk thru didn't show this other handle.

Thanks for all the great advice. I found the third hidden handle at the rear of the Rv on the drivers side. It was actually behind the sewer hose compartment. You folks are great and this forum is excellent for us newbies to 5th wheels. Jerry
