For all you techs out there. Is the carpeting put down before the interior walls are installed? I know the flooring is installed before appliances and kitchen are installed.

I know that the carpet in the bedroom was put down before the cabinets and the bed was installed. I took out the bottom drawer to retrieve something that had fallen back there and noticed that there was carpet. This may not be true for all models, but it is for my Montana HC 353RL.

Last time I took a factory tour they were still putting all the flooring on before the rest went in.

The OP asked about carpet v. exterior walls. While the interior fixtures (cabinets, closets, etc.) are installed after the carpet, The exterior walls are not. The walls go on first then the carpet/linoleum comes after.

Thanks for the info everyone. This Montana has a bedroom door that must be in the open position when slide is pulled in. Took the unit in for warranty work doors closed just fine. When we picked it up bedroom door did not meet latch side and bathroom door will not close at all. Both doors on the same rounded wall. Carpet is not under the wall as I suspect it should be. I think the tech. Tried to pull the slide in with the door closed.

The doors being able to close or not are greatly influenced by the sise to side level of the trailer. Our bedroom door doen't always close on different sites due to minute differences in level. On occasions, like in a house, the builder will have a door assembly or rough opening that is not plumb. I would put a level vertically on both sides of the door jams(hinge side as well as knob side) to see how plumb they are and then lift one side or another to see how much it is changing. On ours, the knob side jam is on the bedroom slide and that wanders all over the place. John

Thanks for the input. According to the auto level monitor, the unit was level when I inspected the doors. There is a large gap at the top of the door and almost no gap at the bottom. This is on the latch side. We bought the unit on Wednesday before Memorial Day camped for about ten days and the dealer has had it since. Dealer called last wk. and stated some parts were ordered and we could use it over the Labor Day Weekend. After our only camping trip the wife and I had a page and a half of problems to be addressed. All those will be posted at a later date if we don't get scarification on warranty wk.
