Apollo Microwave Light

We have a Apollo in our 2008 3400rl
Can anyone tell me if that microwave has a light in it when you open the Door? My wife swears it did but I can,t find one in there to replace the bulb.

Yes there is a light. Upper right corner near the door. I don't know how you would change it. You must have to pull the Microwave out and remove a panel to get at it.

Jack, after watching the repairman work on mine, it might be easier to hang a small flashlight next to the thing!!!!!

This is nice to hear, since our push handle broke and will no longer release the door.

This is a well known problem with the Apollo. Call

Mid West Sales and Service, Inc.
917 South Chapin Street
South Bend, Indiana 46601
Phone #1-800-772-7262

and they should provide a new one. It used to be free, but I suspect they now charge a nominal amount for the replacement. I carry a spare and it came in handy last summer when a companion's Apollo latch gave up. He was both impressed and thankful I had it.

P.S. Here is a tip to save you some time and frustration. Go to Harbor Freight and by a set of "Security Tips" (not exactly the right name but the tools are in the RV) that fit a socket drive. The set will contain a Security Torx bit that is needed on two of the screws.

tell you what. It is not all that hard to dissemble that Apollo. I have done it maybe 6 or 7 time on ours and others. After the 3rd or so time it is ssnap.

I've replaced both the handle and the light and I still love to both microwave and bake with my apollo!

Thank you very much for the info on the handle Carl. I really appreciate it and it will help save me some time to finding parts if needed.

I've had mine apart 6-7 times. Piece of cake and I am anything but handy. I used a small pair of vice grips on those security screws and I replaced them with regular. They are apparently just designed to slow you down when disassembling so the electricity dissipates. The dissipation actually only takes a few seconds.
