Mattress

I cut down my plattform to fit a queen size matress.
I been thinking about buying a 8" Tuft & Needle foam mattres from Amazon.
Anybody have any positive or negatives about that brand?

I can't speak to the Tuft & Needle brand but we like a firm mattress and obviously the stock mattress provided by Keystone wasn't it. We opted for a 3" Firm mattress topper by "Sleep on Latex" which is highly rated by Consumer Reports for folks that primarily sleep on their back. Slept on it last night for the first time and it's extremely comfortable. Sleep on Latex will cut the topper to any size so I provided the measurements of our "RV" king and they cut it to fit. You can either order direct or through Amazon. They have a 100 day trial period and it can be returned no questions asked at their cost. We originally purchased one for our S&B king mattress and have slept on it much longer...and no, it's not hot to sleep on. Good luck.

Latex is the best foam for a mattress. It’s heavy dense foam that supports you better than any other foam. It will never sag like other foams and there will be no pressure points.
I’ve been sleeping on natural latex for years.

We were also looking at the Tuft and Needle. We were able to check one out in an Airstream at the Tampa RV show. We opted instead to get the 8" Luxury Gel Foam mattress from Mattress Insider. It can be flipped for a firmer feel on one side and softer on the other. The softer side is almost identical to our Tempur-Pedic in the house. We love it and the price isn't bad. We used the code RVLOVE for 10% off. Fast shipping and made in USA.

I hear those are pretty good. They also sell them at Lowes, if you a Veteran you can also get an additional 10% off the purchase price FYI.

We put a Sleep Number mattress in our Monte and would not be without it. We got rid of the OEM mattress and got a Simons but didn't like it so we put it in the guest bedroom and got the Sleep Number.

No input about the brand you mentioned. However,

Husband and I went to a regular mattress store and purchased one there. We cut our platform down too. The fit is perfect. Gives extra walk around room in the Master. We are very happy.

We brought a foam mattress for our 2019 3121 RL from Kohls , it’s a 10 inch gel foam and we love it. We also had the platform cut down to a queen and are totally happy that we did. We love the mattress so much we brought one for our home bed. Good luck.

We cut our king down also and love the extra room around the bed. I ordered an Ashley Home foam mattress and like it very much.

We also cut down the platform to give us extra room on the sides and we didn't need all the space of a king. We replaced it with an 8" hybrid from Wayfair that we are happy with although it is a little firm for our taste. One surprising thing is that the new mattress weighed probably twice as much as the original and we had to replace the struts for the underbed storage. We got them on Amazon, just had to measure extended length. I believe we opted for 100 lb per pair.

Sleep Number

We are considering a Sleep Number mattress. Is there anyone who uses one in their RV that is willing to share information on what model they purchased and what they like/dislike about it? Thanks in advance for your help.

If you were close I have a queen sleep number I would give you! It just did not work for us.

We cut ours down to queen size also for room on the sides. I happen to have a piece of plywood that was 60X60 so I just replaced the hinged section and was able to lengthen it to eliminate the over hang at the end, but it was 3/4 inch thick so I needed to replace gas shocks. Went to 120# and they are perfect. It pops right open nice. The new mattress is a Nectar 8" memory. They have a 365 day trial period. It is just slightly firmer then our Temper Pedic at home. Very happy with this mod.
