Do tell? They look so self sufficient. Except for messing with the towed car, and 4000 dollars worth of tires when it’s time.

LOL, Not to mention that you are maintaining a SEMI TRUCK and Lord help ya if it ever breaks down on the side of the highway!!! Cost of one tow bill can ruin a years worth of fun. And you just think the repair bills on a 1 ton are high.......

Thanks for any information you can give me on it.

We use our Solar for multiple aspects including Boondocking, to date mainly parking lots/casinos and primitive camping sites - western BLM type trips are on the near horizon, and as a supplement to power when on a 30A site, to power our fridge while driving w/o using propane, and even just keeping the batteries charged up when stored if needed.
Whether it is worth it is more of a personal decision vs straight out financial decision, especially if you do a more comprehensive system. For us, we already think its worth it and it hasn't been 2 full seasons yet, and we haven't done the more substantial boondocking trips that we have planned. The 3 favorite campsites we stayed at last year were all primitive/no-hookup sites so the ability to do those type of sites make it worth it alone from the enjoyment factor. Also at one of those sites we got to hear the drone of multiple generators at nearby sites which convinced us even more. At one point when one trailer shut down their generator (more of a commercial unit), we saw their neighbors applaud LOL.
Here is a thread on my install if you are interested:

I cant believe no one has mentioned it and I am certainly not discounting any of the previously mentioned goodies, but without a doubt DISC BRAKES are the cats meow. If I wanted to, I could stop my 27k+ rig with the trailer brakes ONLY!!! All I can say is WOW what a difference they make.
