Norcold Magnet Reset

Camping at Mayberry Campground this weekend and had torrential rains on Sat. Got back to Monte after dinner and fridge was off showing code for High Temp Limit Switch. Manual shows that it must be taken in for service, there is nothing owner can do to fix. Jumped on this and other forums and noticed that it is a common problem when the switch gets wet and to reset it you need a strong magnet. So off to Lowes I go first thing this morning to buy a magnet. With a very humbling prayer, I put the magnet on the switch and Voila, it reset. Thank you Jesus. So far it is working fine and we didn't have to leave early. Thanks to all of you guys on the forums that have been there before. I can't tell you how many times y'all have helped us out in a pinch and saved us from expensive service calls. God bless you all.

So where is this switch located? In case we have the problem down the road, I'd want to put the magnet on the right one...

Inside the bottom refrigerator compartment on the outside of the RV. There is a black box with a red light on it. The red light will be on when the limit switch is not working. Hold the magnet flat against the red light until it clicks and the light goes out. There is a bunch of info on the different RV forums about this. There was a recall on the Norcold 1210 four door just to put this switch on. Then the switch started giving problems.

Steve, Thanks for this post. I have the same fridge and know I'll need this tip at some point. I'll add a magnet to my Lowe's shopping list.

Question, how big and how powerful a magnet do I need??

You get two rectangular magnets for $2.44. Great investment.
