The same cooling coils cool both the freezer and fridge. If it's pretty warm out 3 hours isn't much time to allow much to happen. Make sure the door is fully closed and the seal isn't folded somehow. Make sure the thermister hasn't fallen off the fins or slid all the way down. Throw a bag of ice in the freezer to speed things along. If you're on electric ... try switching to propane ... the electric heating element may be on its last leg.

Thanks I will try that. I did not know where the slider was set, will bring it up to top. Just switched it over to gas to see if any changes. Freezer is working fine,We have not camped this year but had it on end of june when people looked at it,no problems, shut off till now and no fridge. Really did not need this now...

Takes longer than three hours for ours. Freezer will be getting cold, frig takes quite a bit longer. 10 to 12 hours before we get to 37/38 degrees.. If history causes you to expect the frig to be colder within three hours, and it is not happening, a common problem (which has happened to us) is a cooling unit failure. I would give it more time before messing with anything.

Thanks for the responses, I am going to leave it alone until tonight to see if it changes. I am probably getting a little freaky with having someone coming down to look at it, not wanting to have a problem.

Adding frozen blue ice pack or some cold beverages will accelerate the cool down

I switched over to gas and left it alone, fridge is good and cold. so for tonight I went back to electric to see if heating element that diesel guy mentioned might be acting up. I think I may have been to much in a hurry to get it cold. did all of this today, people wanted to come and see trailer, called, texted, sent bunch of pictures, they were happy, this morning, texted for address to get here. I go and pick up trailer, had it setting on RT20 for more traffic, got everything working, and guess what? never texted that they were coming. I hope they come tomorrow or all this was for nothing. Really frustrating, but keep trying. Thanks to all for help

An RV frig will not cool down like the residential unit. One thing you will not want to do is put any foods into the frig until it is cooled down. I've found out that if you put some items like bottled water and other beverages into the unit it WILL cool down much faster also. I have used freezer packs to help speed up the cool down of the frig also then put them in the freezer to refreeze them again.

Follow up. I took everyone's advice and "waited". That's all it took, I never realized before how much longer it took to get the fridge cold. Before I would start it and walk away till we needed to load. Even after all these years I still once in a while get a little senile. I wanted to make sure everything was okay I got ahead of myself. Well, lesson learned, and all for nothing. cancelled viewing till "maybe" this weekend. We will just keep on trying. Thanks

Little late with my reply especially as you may have already sold your rig but I have had two montanas and the freezer always cooled down first. This new montana took 24 hours to cool the refrigerator the first time and if I store it for any length of time I expect the same.

No, not sold yet. BUT, had a young man go thru it yesterday felt real good, did make offer. Talked to him tonight and is mailing a deposit to hold. He lives about an 1-1/2 hours from here,so I asked to have him mail deposit to hold trailer. Here's hoping... said he will mail out monday and call when he does.
