Awning color saga

All we wanted to do was to order a awning for over the main slide the same color as the OEM awning. Then the trouble started . Our Dometic part Number is 917EH16-001U EH being the color code for pewter which is a light gray and most of our 2013 Big Sky Build Date May 2012 is light gray. Our awning is BLUE. So how did it get BLUE.

Before we took delivery our dealer advised us that the OEM awning was defective and they would order new fabric and replace it. They did

Never thought about it till last week when we tried to order the main slide awning. Dometic said they discontinued the pewter (EH) color and would have sent the dealer the( NR) code which is the Onyx most Big sky's have. So how did we get BLUE. Dealer said they ordered it and provided me the part they ordered, Dometic says it is the wrong part Number. Dealer says it is the right part number and it is for the (EH) Color Code pewter.Dometic says they would not have sent blue. Dometic wants the dealer invoice order so they can determine what went wrong. Requested same from dealer.........It just never ends.

Rich, a southern ohio boy would just get out the spray can and let fly! Overspray on monte due to windy day? Heck, that is just color blending to make the awning fit in better. John

Somewhere in the Montana community there are about 20-30 folks who need to take you guys to dinner. You've had all of their crappy luck spread out over the years and they owe you!

It gets worse. The OEM color Pewter was discontinued and replaced by the "periwinkle blue" we have now which was also discontinued and replaced by Azure none of which are a close match to one another. Dometic tells me the correct replacement was Onyx and when I ask them why I did not get Onyx we get no reply. We have given up on the main slide awning upgrade but this exchange is so funny and so ridiculous that I will not let up till someone tells me who screwed up. I am looking to find out who the CEO of Dometic USA is. We need to have a chat.

Latest from Dometic .In a Email this AM they did admit that the color replacement was wrong .We had enough documentation collected were they could not deny the truth. Now to see what they will do about it..
