Bathroom 110 Volt Lighting Over Sink

Just noticed today that the 3 clear decorator 110 volt lights over the bathroom sink and medicine cabinet have distorted the ceiling finish (above each bulb) from heat off the bulbs. These 3 bulbs have a space of approximately 3/4 inch between bulb surface and ceiling. If these lights were left on for a lengthy period time they could do considerable damage to the ceiling material with a potential to cause a fire. This is on a 2009 3400RL.
Has there been any problems and if so how was it solved; fluorescent bulbs?

I noticed my 3150's vanity lights could create some real heat early on. I went with LED's from Michael before discoloration. An alternate would be a lower wattage incandescent bulb.

I replaced ours with 120 volt LED bulbs from Costco. I think the total was $15 for the 3. These run cool and also save power..

We also changed them to LED and are now 100% LED, 1/8th the electricity use, cooler, safer, and should last for many years.

We also replaced all our bulbs with LED.

The amount of problems reported from this set up haven't been that many that I can recall and depends on how long they are left on for each owner I guess. When we noticed the excessive heat problem in our other rigs we went with LEDs there as well, had the same problem in out stick house so we knew what was coming.

We went with fluorescent when we had our 3400RL simply because at that time, LED's were just emerging and were cost-prohibitive. Like others, if it were today, we would use LED's based on our experiences with the new rig and the conversion we are undergoing at the S&B.

This problem was talked about in 2008. The fix was to make a metal plate. Paint it with high temp paint and install just above the light bar. I did that and the plate and paint have stood the test of time. Looks as good as it was in 2008.

I put cheap fluorescent in. They come up to brightness slowly and when I get up at night they are easier on the eyes.
