new trends dealer show louisville.

A friend gave me a copy of trailer life for march 2010. They have a new trends article from the Lsvl RV Industry show. It answers for me how to upgrade to a new 2010 Montana and avoid buying a new Tow Vehicle because of the 16000 weight on a new 3400.

New: Helium Technology. A construction method Keystone decline to talk about. it saves 1400 pounds.three lighter weights floor plans.trimmed weights from the roof, counter tops, frames and sidewalls.
keystone reports a 33-foot-fourslide with helium technology
featuring Azdel Superlite side walls has a dry weight of 9,400lbs
price range mid 40000.

Beats buying a freight liner Tow Vehicle .

Helium technology... Saw that at the Tampa RVshow.Sounds like a fancy word for using cheaper materials to cut back on the weight. They used to be called Ultra lites.

Lots of plastic and foam, less real wood. May be problematic where temperatures vary drastically from winter to summer. Cut corners wherever possible. Likely only single pane windows. If they move to a 12 inch frame I wonder what gets the off set for the suspension weight increase or do they just reduce the frame modulus?

Unless someone already knows, before we start accusing them of using cheaper materials and cutting corners, it would be a good idea to wait and see exactly how they actually managed to do it. There are ways of eliminating weight without cheaping the product. But often the added costs of doing so prevents a manufacturer from doing it.
