adding a battery temporarily
Don't normally boondock but am going to need to for about a week. Is there an easy way to add another battery temporarily and would my built in system re-charge both batteries off my Honda 2000 in 4-5 hours. 2014Montana High Country. Need to run CPAP,frig on propane, and some lights and water pump (when needed) overnite. Can run gen during day.

Positive to Positive ... negative to negative. Better to ground the far battery to frame instead on one that has power cable coming off it OEM. It's also way faster and more efficient to charge your batteries from a generator using a regular battery charger plugged in to the generator. You may not have one, but many of us carry one for times of need.
Edit Sorry ... misread your post. I thought you were charging batteries straight off generator's 12 VDC charger

If you are powering the coach with the generator while you are using a battery charger, make sure you disconnect either the batteries from the system or disconnect the converter. You do not want to have the converter and charger trying to charge the batteries at the same time. There is a chance of damaging the converter. I just trip the circuit breaker for the converter while charging the batteries and leave them connected to the coach. While charging the batteries, they are providing 12Vdc to the coach. In the daytime there is little 12Vdc draw anyway.

Vent that compartment while charging...unless you have the second battery contained and vented to outside. John

If temporary I would set the battery on wood block just outsider the battery compartment on the ground and run two jumpers wires to the coach battery no need to vent

I would put the battery on a block of wood as stated. I would plug the shore power cable into the generator and let the converter/charger do its thing. Keep it simple as stated. It should work fine..
