Lower Seal Shower door on 2011 Mountaineer
The lower sweep seal on my 2011 Mountaineer keeps tearing out as we open and close the door.
I have replaced it three times and have checked the alignment of the door and it is level across the lower surface. It starts tearing at the open side and rips over half way with a couple of openings.
Any ideas on how to fix it?

First thing I'd do is look for a burr on the bottom of the door frame that could be catching it.

My 2013 Mountaineer shower door seal has torn also. Where did you get a seal?

I got the exact replacement seal from an RV store locally. It slides right in, no sweat. It comes in a length about 10 inches longer than the width of my shower door, so I cut it off to fit.
I have checked for burrs, not joy. The OEM seal lasted for two trips, no problem. On the long run to Yellowstone, the OEM seal tore as we used it or from vibration, can tell what the cause was. The replacement seal will go in with the down edge either way, i.e., the long side toward the shower or the long side toward the toilet. Tried it both ways.
The seal does not work with the long side toward the toilet, water runs out when the shower is used.
What kind of seal did you get from Lowes? Seal from the RV place run about $19 and don't last one shower.

I had the same problem for years, then fixed it. The shower door swivel pins had become loose and the open part of the door had drooped, causing the sweep to tear from the edge to the middle. This was fixed by cutting a small washer to fit under the lower hinge assembly and tapped it in with a small punch. The door works much better and the sweep does what it is supposed to do! Good luck.
