Mission Tires

I would like to know what the RV community is doing about the Mission Tires, that Keystone put on our trailers. These tires are bad news. They should have never been mounted, and put on our trailers. Keystone knew about these tires, and the blowouts that we are experiencing, and the thousands of dollars in damage caused by them. Keystone should have replaced these defective tires. Why are we paying to replace them. They are cheap tires. They should have been recalled and replaced, and this should have been turned over to the DOT to determine if they are safe tires.

Yes they are cheap tires. The reality is that many Rv manufacturer's have used the Mission tires or other low cost brand tires. They do meet DOT specifications or the DOT certification would not be on the tire. The reality also is that although we report low cost tire failures but there are thousands and thousands of users that never had a problem. We ran our over 10K miles withoiut a problem and other here have run them longer.
There are mnay reasons for tire failure, Improper inflation, High speed, over weight camper. It would be interesting how many failures are caused by one of those reasons. I would not purchase low cost low quality tires for my 3400 becasue of the manner in which we use it
We had low cost Chinese tires on all of our previous campers used for weekend camping and never had a tire failure. I would like to see a t ire option on the purchase of a new camper.
