2010 3400RL where is the sub-woofer?

We are at the dealers moving into our new 2010 3400RL. I have been going through the trailer to make sure I know what we have where everything is.

I can't find a sub-woofer. The sales guy says he will have to call Keystone to find out where it is. I assume that there is a sub-woofer somewhere but where. In my 2007 3075RL it was on the top shelf of the highest cabinet near the TV but, as I said I can't find one in the 3400.

Can another 2010 3400RL owner please tell me where it is hidden?

On some they are behind the panel below the desk on the wall near where your feet go.

Grant,
While looking at the rear of the surround sound system is there an output for the sub-woofer? If so, are there wires plugged in? If so, follow the wires to the sub-woofer.

It is under the desk.. we have a "boxed in area" that creates a shelf that is under the desk and comes out from the wall about 8"... the boxed in enclosure below the shelf is where the SubWolfer is located. U will enjoy the 3400, it is a NICE layout. A little mor difficult to squeeze into a 'back-in' site, but worth it!!

Grant, when you're sitting at the desk your sub-woofer might be behind the panel by your feet.

Found our's in the corner behind the fireplace. Probably the design location was made by a committee.

I found it!!

Like Ron's 3400 our sub-woofer is behind the fireplace. Seems like a very strange place to put it. I wonder why they didn't put it in the same cabinet as the DVD player.

We are still moving stuff and trying to find new homes for everything but, we do like the layout and Kathy really likes the 12 cubic foot refrigerator.

We had our 3075 for a little over three years and we had a 17 foot trailer before that. However, backing-in is a skill I have never mastered. We look like a snake whenever we try backing-in. Also as much as I love my truck it is long and doesn't turn very well.

Grant, you might want to consider relocating the subwoofer as It doesn't do a lot of good behind the closed in fireplace. Ours is behind the TV itself, a flat screen we added. There should be room for air movement from the woofer to project the sound into the room. Our cabinet ('06) does not have the drawer behind the TV so it was easy to put it there. Sounds like you are having fun moving in.........Good luck with the new unit and many miles to you, Kathy and Raider!!!!!!

Hate to sound stupid, but what is a "Sub-Woofer?"

A subwoofer is one of the speakers in an entertainment system. It provides the very low base tones and is typically housed in its own larger-than-the-other speaker boxes. The low tones allow for being behind something and the sound still projects through wherever it's enclosed because of the low frequencies.

Just to help you relate the terms, for a surround sound system there is also typically a center speaker and a right and left speaker to create a stereo affect in front of you. Then there are the left and right rear surround speakers for additional sound separation and to complete the surrounding feeling. These speakers are typically the same size. Then the subwoofer is typically placed behind and below the video screen and projects its low tones forward and into the room. If it's loud enough, the walls, the floor and whatever seating you have will vibrate and give the best in experience if you don't mind the feeling (personally that's a little too loud, but some folks love it. When my heart starts to beat at the same pulse as the booming affect of the subwoofer then it's time to turn it down. By that time DW has already "said" something if she's within earshot.

In my RV, I try not to have things too loud or it might irritate the neighbors (and wildlife).

O.K. folks, we, too, have not been able to find our woofer. We have really been upset because we thought the previous owners had removed it.
We have a 2009 3605 RL Montana with the fireplace and also the box that makes a shelf under the desk. I guess we can assume that the woofer is located in one of these areas since we can't find it anywhere else. Would love to put it up in the cabinet above the Television.

Does anyone out there have a 2009 3605RL unit that has found their woofer?

Thanks, Judy
