FM reception

I'm a bit confused on why my FM radio seems to be "wired" the way it is and looking for any work arounds.

While watching TV (cable) I have the boost button in the bedroom closet deselected. If I then turn off the TV and want to turn on the FM radio, I get no reception unless I go turn the boost on.

Is there no way to separate the two? Not that walking up and down the steps a few times is going to kill me, but it certainly is inconvenient and seems like it should not be set up this way. We listen to the radio a lot and also have the TV going on and off several times a day to check the weather channel, news, etc. so you can see this would become tiresome.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The FM radio is using the TV bat wing antenna to receive radio that is why you have to turn on the antenna green led.

I have thought about putting a separate FM antenna on the side of Monty but have not drilled the holes or done it.

Rich - where is the splitter? (sorry, being lazy here, the rig is all closed up right now).

Strange that this was not done this way in my '03 Mountaineer....

In our 06 3400 it is in the cabinet above the TV.
