Running slides with drill

My question is when the never will happen, happens, how to get the slides in. There is a cap on the end of the hydraulic motor when removed exposes a socket that a hex shaft fits and can be turned with a drill. Clockwise, slides in, counterclockwise slides out.
The cap on mine is very hard to get to. Does the cap turn off or do you just pry it off? Also what is the needed size of hex shaft. Afraid I'm going to break cap if It doesn't pry off.

I had seen a schematic online and also directions that I put away with my owner's manual in the event it is needed.

Thanks for reply. If I had stuck my head in to compartment further I could have answered my own question. On end of motor is a decal that must be removed. The decal states use a 1/4" hex and witch way it needs to be turned.
