Strange: Carbon Monoxide Alarm
Left the Monty unplugged and closed up all week at the CG. We arrive, plug her in, open slides, turn on fridge, gas water heater (30 amp site), front AC. About 20 min later alarm goes off. Turn off gas water heater, open all windows and door, turn on roof fans. It's been at least 30 min and its still in alarm state.
Any ideas? We are sitting in the truck with the AC on...silencing the alarm every 6 mins.

With the windows open and fan on and still in alarm I can only guess it has failed. To be safe and sleep without worry I would close the propane tank valves for the night and remove battery from the detector to silence the alarm. Then tomorrow go get a new one.

Sounds like it has failed, BTW Bug Spray and other sprays will set that thing off

Might check the 12Volt coach batteries. When mine went bad it set off the alarm.

Rereading your post it was the propane detector that my battery set off.

We had to replace our propane alarm when it was two years old and have also had it go off continually when a cat knocked a bottle of booze over under it. All types of alarms fail and must then be replaced.

We had our LP detector go off, and would not reset. Cut the wires and the next day bought another one. Had the carbon monoxide detector also go off, pulled the battery, and ordered a new one. I got the same one to replace the failed one, but later discovered there are better battery powered CO detectors. Not sure why either of these failed so early, but I'm not willing to mess with trying to get them to work, or to go without. I both cases, there was no LP or CO, and they haven't had issues since replacement.

I am not sure what they are putting in the new Montana's but my 2012 has a "smoke" detector and a propane gas detector, the propane detector is powered from the RV battery, the smoke detectors are not and have 9 volt batteries. If it is the propane detector that is at issue then it has a LED that when "on" will be green, when gas has been detected it will turn "red" and alarm and when it needs replacing or is not operating properly should flash red and green.
Sometimes smoke detectors will alarm when the batteries are getting low. I would turn off all propane, once aired out the gas detector alarm should go off, if it does not then I would assume it is defective and I would disable it until it can be replaced, because there must be a problem with it.

My propane detector is powered by 110v. The detectors have a life cycle of 5-7 years period. Mine lived 1 year after RV purchase. Label had date of manufacture of 5 years earlier. HUMANS can choose to bypass safety equipment, our dogs can't vote.

Fortunately we purchased a CO detector at Walmart last night to confirm whether we did or didnt have a CO issue. Would never disconnect safety equipment if I didnt have something to fill the gap. Good news is the new/house one has a digital readout of CO level...has read 0 since turning it on.
Headed to RV parts store now.
If it remains Old Faithful, its due to go off in less than an hr.

One thing to remember is that products in an RV came from the low bidder. We've replace all our detectors with far better models for not much money and added one where we thought one should be.

Chris, my previous Montana detector was almost 2 yrs old and the rig was brand new. Check the date just as a possibility on your detector.

Thought the cover and base were just joined and would separate easily. Turned out that under the label on the back were 2 small screws...one on on each side. Wires were soldered to the circuit board. Cut wires and taped off for now.
Time for a good/uninterrupted night's sleep. I should have found and removed the fuse controlling it last night. O well...

Per my neighbor here in the Park his dealer told him their are some defective co2 detectors out their his was replaced in less then a year!
