InCommand

Hello all. Dan and Ruth from PA, new to the forum. We are long time motorhomer's switching to fifth wheel for full timing. We just ordered a 2017 Montana 3950BR Legacy which should be ready early October. Wondering if anyone has experience with the InCommand system.

Dan, I've no experience with the on commander! Congratulations on your new rig. We traded a 40 foot Winnebago for a Montana, loved it

Yes we'really excited, although a bit nervous about towing such a big rig.

Thanks all. So this new InCommand system comes with the Legacy option now. Cool features, but we're a bit concerned about having to reach for a tablet to simply turn a light on. If anyone has used it we'd appreciate any insights into whether it is cumbersome in day to day use, or if it becomes natural.

Not yet familiar with this at all ... but Boy Howdy surely there are still switches for most everything on the control panel on the wall or in the closet. Not all of us want to be that tech savvy for basic tasks like turning on a light. Is this just a fancy new version for the remote we already have used since about 2010 - 2011?

Interesting. I don't recall seeing this discussed before, but here is something about it from a year ago.

Welcome from Arizona. I don't know anything with that system but when I have a problem with a computer I get my 10 year old grand son to show me how to operate it.

Welcome to the forum from sunny Colorado. We don't have the In Command system, so can't help there. Just wanted to wish you many trouble free miles.

Dan WT, I see that there is a session at the Fall Rally on the In Command system. Just an FYI.

Our 2015 SOB came with InCommand/MyRV so we've been using it for about a month. Controls awnings, slides, lighting generator, water pump, electric or gas WH all from one panel, some satellite controls around the rig, or the app on your device. Initially it was annoying - just give me the old switches. Now after some use we are enjoying the options, especially the master lighting "OFF". We leave the rig and one push on the pad and all lights off. We do have some convenience/night lighting on switches so we don't walk into a dark rig. It will take some adjusting to your habits and patterns but hopefully, like us, you won't even notice it after awhile.

We took delivery of our 2017 3720 Legacy a few weeks ago and have familiarized ourselves with the in command. First, all the ops can be done from your cell phone. The main lights in the living area and the hall, ext lights, security lights, water tank, water pump are controlled from the panel. The bath and bedroom are on wall switches. The light over the table has a switch directly on it. The lights over the kitchen island are on a switch. There is a pin no. required to control the awning and accent lights. Also the slides, and the awnings need the pin #. It takes a little practice to know the system well, but after all we have nothing but time, right?

Hello from Florida, this is Kathy and Butch. Also new to the forum and brand new 3160RL owners with In-Command. Everyone else covered the use of the system pretty well. I just wish they had not put the panel behind a door, we forget to close all the way bump, our heads on it LOL.
