48 States

We have now made the 48 continental states and as of May are fulltimers! After 5 years of drought, we sold our house, moved into our Montana, and it rained 17" during May. Wondering if California would like us to come visit?

They would probably pay you to camp out there.

How about Alaska? Greetings from central Arkansas, and welcome to the forum.

Enjoy the fulltiming. California is not our favorite place to go. Alaska is on the top of our list of places we want to go.

Good for you! We are TRYING it full time, but have active ranch to fall back to if this doesn't work for us. My concerns are mostly health focused...meds, doctors etc.
BUT a major concern is #128541; how do I get a white map to color in our states and Canadian provinces we've camped in? I really want one. Lol

Here is a link that was posted by the Youngrens. It is a pretty easy to follow step by step on creating and posting the map to your signature in your profile. http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...ad.php?t=40564

I hope full timing works for you guys. Good luck and thanks for your comment.

We're not going to go full-timing, but are about to take our second 8 - 10 week 'vacation'. This time out to Northern CA. Since we've had rain just about every other day for I don't know how many weeks here in Northern VA, I figure we'd try taking some with us along with everything else.

I am in California. Come on over!!! Bring as much water as you can! If it doesn't rain because you are now here and you've lost the MOJO, then please don't take offense when we ask you to leave because then you're using our limited water supply!

Kidding aside, California gets a lot of water from other states. The problem is that these other states are having droughts, too. One problem is stupidity. Especially in southern California which is mostly desert, home builders have been mandated to install lawns (because that's what Easterners who've moved West are used to, plus it's said they look nicer). Putting that much water-hungry foliage where it's never been has helped create this problem. Even New Mexico and Arizona have done a slightly better job of using desert compatible landscaping so that when there's less water available we should have been able to survive much longer.
