Kitchen Faucet

Everything works okay as long as we use the water pump, the last couple times we have been out when hooked to city water there is no longer any flow from the kitchen faucet, unhook the city water ,and the water flows okay with the pump . Everything else in the trailer runs okay on city water or pump, just the kitchen faucet has the problem on the city water hook up. Kitchen faucet has never had great flow compared to the rest of the faucets, but adequate .Any thoughts to what is causing this ? Thanks

We have the same problem at times. We go to the bathroom sink and open the tap for a few seconds then we get water in the kitchen. When you hook up to city water bleed all the taps and the toilet and also after travelling and going to use the pump do the same.

Sounds like I am getting an air lock, that makes sense, hopefully that is what is happening, just never seem to have happened until last couple outings . Thanks

Assume you have taken the aerator off the kitchen faucet to exclude that being part of the problem. And the problem is the same for hot as well as cold only?? You can always take the cold water line feed connection apart from where it connects to the faucet WITH water off of course and hold it into a trash can while someone else goes outside and momentarily turns on the water service to the rig to see if you have good flow there or if any crap comes out of the line. Interesting problem that requires some work to eliminate possible issues. John

Thanks, I will check that, but the crazy part is it always works fine on the pump, but hooked up to city water no water out of either hot or cold, not a drop.

don't forget there is a flow restrictor that is in the faucet supply line that did that to us until I removed it

Is the flow restrictor on both the hot, and cold ? I get no flow from either side, or is the flow restrictor in the faucet ?

On my kitchen faucet the flow restrictor was where the connection to the sprayer handle, I tossed mine away and have had no problems since, it affects both hot and cold. This does not explain it working on the pump unless the pressure from city water is considerably higher thus affecting the restrictor.

I would remove it altogether.

Same for us to. We have removed the restrictor but I think there is more than 1. If you don't turn the faucet on full force all at one time ours doesn't do it. But not always do we remember. Then we go to bathroom turn on the bathroom sink water ....bingo water in kitchen again.

on mine I disconnected the hose to the spray nozzle on both ends and found the restrictor a little white thing and removed it

The check valve would be the problem. they put the check in for the sprayer weather you had one or not. Your city water pressure must be high and it is pushing the check valve closed. you are not alone in this problem.

I removed the spray nozzle from the hose ,and it still did not run, so as you say the restrictor may be on the other end of the hose from the spray nozzle ? This still seems to be somewhat of a mystery, at times it will not run, and also turning on the bathroom water does not seem to help. Letting it sit for awhile then it works again, and then you shut it off, and try it again no water.

All we have to do is turn the faucet clockwise if that does not work turn counterclock and that will unkink the plastic pipes underneath and we have full force water. The hose underneath kinks up as you use the faucet and restricts the waterflow. When we loose pressure in the kitchen we do just what I said above.
