I took my tail gate off for one of our trips. Did not like it. Stuff seemed to want to get out of the box a lot easier. Now maybe that indicates we would get better fuel mileage. I don't know. I did not measure on that trip. I doubt it would make much difference. That was last time I traveled with gate down or off. Good luck. Dennis

5th wheel V gate, and trying to figure out how to transfer the back up camera to it.
