Interesing Electrical Issue

The galley on my model contains a slide with the refrigerator, microwave, and oven. While making breakfast yesterday, using only the range, the microwave started beeping and the clock/timer display went to 00:00 then finally blank and I noticed the refrigerator flipped over to gas automatically. The range light and fan slowed slightly but everything else on 12v and 120v that was on inside remained on.

I figured it was a breaker, but in checking the panel none were tripped so I cycled the refrigerator and microwave breaker on and off. Still nothing. I thought it might be a cable/wire connection where the slide attaches, but crawling under found none. Next I go to the power pedestal and check the breakers, both legs on. Then as I just placed my two fingers on the pedestal breakers, didn't cycle them or anything, just touching them I heard shouts of "OK, you got it, everything is back to normal, what did you do to fix it".

I told the campground maintenance man about it and he said there were some loose breakers, he thought he had checked my box but did not. Speculation is, my touching the breakers made the one loose leg make contact. The breakers are scheduled to be replaced today.

The interesting thing and the reason the 12v fan slowed and the 12v lamp in the range hood dulled a little was that the converter was on that leg as well. I am on a site for the next five months and if this happened while I was gone for a few days, the 12v battery would deplete, causing the refrigerator to stop running on gas, and destroying a freezer load of food. It wouldn't have been a pleasant outcome.

Give thanks to the electrics gods for your luck with the defective pedestal. Glad all worked out for you!

Nosticks thats good you poked around till you found the issue. I always read your posts as we have the same model and your dry humor on many of your posts is great.

Dave, I appreciate your posting this. I've never had this particular problem and hope I never do. But, if we have those symptoms in the future, now I will know to wiggle the breaker levers and not just eyeball them. I doubt I'd ever have thought of that without your post. Thanks.
