We had one last outing for the season and headed down to Bismarck. It was really beautiful weather for NoDak this time of the year. Shorts and sandals, DW and I got to sit out under the awning one last time. Much cooler temps rolling in along with chances of snow this week so I decided to winterize and put the Monty to bed in the front yard. I always wash it at least 2 times a month during the season and tonite was no different. DW had to help me in the house as I was weakened from all the crying of shooting the pink to it. The interior spring cleaning will commence in mid January when I start scrubing everything inside (taking my time and stretching it out a few months on the weekends sipping on some cold ones) and will conclude in late March when it goes to a friends implement shop for the full wash, wax, buff and detail.

On average, 4-5 nites a week in the Monty from the beginning of April-late October. It turned out to be a great season and may it RIP! Come on 2012 Season!!!!

While it's sad to put it away for the winter, it sounds like you have a plan. I'll be doing my mods this winter and visiting the Monty in the storage lot to say hello and check on it.

The winter visits and mods are a lot fun. Fortunately for me, my Monty is in the front yard so I see it every morning on my way to work.

I feel your pain. I have also started the process of shutting down our Monty but we have some great memories from the 2011 season up here in New England. Spring will come quickly.......I hope.

The pink stuff flowed into ours Saturday as well, so we know the feeling. Fortunately for us, we do have the Thanksgiving trek to Florida still on the calendar. Then we get do to do the same ritual again with more pink stuff before we depart and head north. After that, we again will rely on the tales, troubles, adventures as well as tribulations of our fellow MOCers to get our camping fix through the winter months.

Rick, we also ran the pink stuff through our unit last week after a one week run to Grand Forks. Up in our area a lot(most) of the campgrounds are closed up by Sept. end and if the weather is good we usually look for a last run down into North Dakota to extend our camping season. Last year in October it was the KOA in Bismark and this year it was the Sherlock State park in East Grand Forks. October has some beautiful weather in this general area to enjoy, too bad our campgrounds start closing after our September long weekend. We are thankful for the great season we had and hopefully in another year or too we may be able to join the snowbirds and extend our off season fall trips into full winter vacations!!!

As the low temps this week are threatening the teens, we too put our Monty to rest for the winter. Washed, winterized and emptied of anything that can freeze and make a mess. Sad, but had a great first season with the new Montana. Spring can't get here soon enough! New tires will be the first item on the Spring list (although we have not had an issue with the Marathons)better safe then sorry!

One of the good things about Texas is we are able to camp year-round. The bad news is it can get a little warm here in the summer, but that is why they make A/C (grin). We do winterize our rig starting in mid-November, when it is not in use, by draining the hot water tank and blowing out the waterlines.

We also are looking forward to next year as we find it gets better every year. Hang in there as Spring will be here before you know it.

Got her done. I am ready to park the monty for the winter.Store beside my stick house, but we have had a lot of rain lately and the ground is soft. I have to wait for it to dry or a good frost.

Ours has been pinked a couple weeks. I have to take it in to have the lower metal replace before winter sets in. After a couple trips, the lower metal panel came out of the trim strip on the passenger slide. Dealer repaired it, after a 3 hour pull, another panel on the same side is out. They are going to replace the panels on the whole side. I'm hoping to have a winter trip this year.

So I was not the only one pushing the pink stuff thru this weekend. It is always a sad day knowing the season is over. We are hoping to head to Florida for a week or two in Feb/March time frame. Plus we are already talking about what trips we want to make next season.

Well I a experimenting this year!

Normally, I put the pink stuff in and put the Monte to bed for the long winters sleep but this year we pushed the air through the veins of the Monte and took everything out that could freeze and put it in it's winter quarters. I did dump the pink stuff in the stool and some extra down into the three tanks and the traps but I guess we'll see what comes of it! We do plan on heading South this year after Christmas and I'm hoping everything fairs well with the plumbing over the next three months! Wish me luck!

You guys are making me look bad! I see Harvey is a little east of Beulah, I spent a few months in Beulah working on the power house south of town. Man I am getting old that was 1980!! How time flies. My problem is I need to move my trailer to dump my tanks as I had company in Sept. and they stayed in the trailer. I hope to get that done this weekend.

The "pink" is in ours. We just have to wait until the barn we keep it in is arranged. We get the spot by the door as Jan. 24th we leave for Port Aransas Texas for two months...Yea!! Nothing to do now except watch those "PACKERS!!!"

Put the pink in ours until last week in December, then its off to Tucson, AZ for about 6 weeks. Monty will be next to the house, snow-blower is gonna get a workout keeping the path clear for departure after Xmas.

We sure did have a great summer, first time ever for a seasonal RV site. The Monty was a great fit and performed very well. Minor loose fittings and the Fantastic Fan wire in the wall had issues.

Go Pack Go ... been a great run so far.

Thought I could get away for a few more weeks without the pink stuff as we will head south late Nov. It was just getting to cold so for a few dollars I injected the pink stuff. Ace has a sale right now for $2.99 and then with my Veterans discount it was $2.69 and there is a $1.00 mail in rebate limit of 3 which brings the cost of a gallon down to $1.69. But still at $2.69 it was a buy so I got a few extra gallons for the future.

I recently learned that if you blow out your system with air and only need to put pink RV antifreeze down your P-Traps that you can use freeze protected windshield washer fluid instead and save yourself a few dollars. Serves the same purpose.
